WASILLA — When they came to arrest him for allegedly dealing drugs, Alaska State Troopers report they found Chad Copelin getting rid of evidence.
According to a trooper press statement, investigators with the Mat-Su Drug Unit working on a case involving heroin and methamphetamine distribution served a warrant at a home off Wasilla-Fishhook Road at 3 p.m., Tuesday.
Copelin, 33, of Wasilla, “was actively destroying evidence when investigators contacted him,” troopers report.
Still, troopers say they were able to seize heroin, meth, marijuana, scales, packaging materials, surveillance equipment, cash and a gun. Copelin was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $25,000 bail. Jail records Friday afternoon showed he was still incarcerated.
