2 suspects identified in 50-plant pot grow

HOUSTON — Trooper investigators took down a 50-plant marijuana grow Thursday.

According to a trooper press statement, Mat-Su Drug Unit investigators searched a home on Westen Drive at 5 p.m.

“A commercial marijuana grow was seized, along with related growing equipment,” according to the troopers.

In the press release issued Friday, troopers say they have identified two suspects and are drawing up charges to send to the district attorney.

Mile 55 is the closest Parks Highway milepost to Westen Drive, which runs for less than half a mile before terminating across the Alaska Railroad tracks from Bear Paw Lake.
