WASILLA — A 32-year-old man riding with a 2-year-old crashed his ATV Wednesday and wound up in jail for drunken driving and child endangerment.
According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, the accident was reported at 9:20 p.m., at Mile 2.5, Wasilla-Fishhook Road.
“Vladimir Kozak, 32, of Wasilla, was traveling northbound on the ATV trail near Wasilla-Fishhook when he lost control of his Yamaha ATV,” troopers report.
He and his 2-year-old passenger, a member of his family, were thrown from the ATV and were found nearby.
Kozak was charged with drunken driving, reckless endangerment and child endangerment. He was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $500 bail. Jail records Thursday afternoon showed he had since made bail and been released.
The boy was released to his mother after medics confirmed he was not hurt.
