WASILLA— There are a variety of Halloween events planned across the Valley for families to choose from. This year feature’s a little bit of everything, from small trunk or treats events to large community parties.
The Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce is hosting Trick or Treat Street Friday in downtown Palmer. A map is available at palmerchamber.org/halloween/.
Halloween Hollow is a trick-or-treat fundraising event for Mat-Su Special Santa. In partnership with Alaska Family Services, Toys for Tots, and Q99.7. Held at Raven Hall at the Fairgrounds. With over 30 booths to collect candy and play games, there’s not a shortage of fun. Admission is $6 a person or 1 unwrapped toy, children 2 and under are free. All proceeds go to the program to help buy gifts for families in need in the Mat-Su valley during Christmas.
The event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday within the office parking lot at 199 E Nelson Ave. There will be about 20 other local small businesses. Usually, around 500 trick or treaters come through. It’s a fun and safe way for the Kevin Crozier team to celebrate Halloween with their families and the community.
Faith Bible Fellowship will be holding a Fall Festival Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This will be a free evening filled with fun games, good food, and lots of candy. All are invited. Call 907-892-8545 for more information.
Spooky season is here and Denali Harley-Davidson has been busy making their dealership the creepiest place you’ve ever visited. There will be Tricks and Treats in every department, a costume contest, a pumpkin carving session, and the “Ultimate Pumpkin Launcher.”
TNR is hosting a Halloween party to celebrate the spookiest season of the year!! Come join TNR at this recovery event and enjoy free food and treats, costume contest, lip sync battle, and a live concert at 8 p.m. Bring your children and a friend.
Costumes are encouraged as there will be a cash prize of $100 for the best male and female costumes! This is a 21+ show as there will be a full bar provided by Koot’s. Tickets are $30 and the music starts at 7:30 p.m.
Halloween ‘En-witch-ment’ with the Herd: Thursday, starting at 2 p.m.
Enrichment plays an important role in the care of our animals, promoting exercise and stimulating brain activity. Learn about what enrichment means, help make festive Halloween-themed enrichment activities, and watch farm staff take your activity and give or feed it to the musk oxen. Costumes are encouraged and masks are required. Fee (includes project materials, farm tour, and time viewing musk oxen partaking in the enrichment activity you’ve created): $20 for adults and $15 for children. Kabayan Inc. Filipino American Community of Mat-Su is hosting a Halloween Party at North Bowl this year. It’s a costume party. Bring your kids and have them join the kids’ fashion show and they will pick the funniest, the scariest, and the best costume. They will have games for kids and adults too. Bring food to share, drinks will be provided.
The costume contest begins at around 10 p.m.
