WASILLA — There are numerous events scheduled in conjunction with Memorial Day across the Valley this year.

Mat-Su Veterans Wall of Honor

Veteran organizations across the Valley are coming together to hold the annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Mat-Su Veterans Wall of Honor at 1 p.m.

American Legion Post 35

American Legion Post 35 is holding their annual barbecue around 2 p.m. after the Memorial Day ceremony at the Mat-Su Veterans Wall of Honor in Wasilla.

American Legion Post 15

American Legion Post 15 is holding their ceremony at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery with an airplane dropping a wreath from the sky around 9:30 a.m. on Memorial Day. There will be a barbecue throughout the day starting around 1 p.m. For more information, call 907-745-4440.

VFW Post 9365

VFW Post 9365 in Wasilla is serving hot dogs and hamburgers after the Veterans Wall of Honor Memorial Day ceremony around 2 p.m. For more information, call 907-376-5820.

AMVETS Post 9

AMVETS Post 9 is holding their annual Memorial Day potluck after the wall ceremony. For more information, call 907-376-2999.

Palmer Pioneer Home

The Alaska Veterans and Pioneer Home in Palmer is holding a barbeque for its residents and their family and friends during their normal lunch time. U.S. Rep. Don Young is scheduled to make a visit. For more information, call 907-745-4241.
