WASILLA — The annual Colony Days celebration runs all weekend in downtown Palmer, starting at 8 a.m. Friday, June 10.
“It’s another three days jam-packed full of fun,” Palmer Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ailis Vann said.
There’s a variety of new and returning events and activities scheduled throughout the weekend.
There will be live music and a market featuring over 80 vendors all three days, according to Vann.
Longtime favorites such as the Bed Races draw a large amount of participation each year. Vann said that Colony Days is a great way for local families to spend time together and a fun summer destination for all ages.
“We’re looking forward to it,” Vann said.
The 2022 Colony Days schedule includes several new events and activities such as teen dance night at the Palmer Depot, a Festival of Flowers fundraising event benefiting the Kids Kupboard, and the Harvest Olympics.
The Harvest Olympics is a farm-themed relay race where the fastest team of four will claim the prize. There will be bonus time deductions offered to participants wearing costumes.
“It’s a beloved festival that’s been happening for a long time. It’s one of those things that everybody looks forward to,” Vann said.
The annual Colony Days Parade is one of the most popular points of interest, drawing hundreds of visitors from across the Valley. This year’s parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11.
