PALMER— The 2022 Crazy Lazy mountain race takes place Saturday, March 19. The race starts at 11 a.m. at the Lazy Mountain trailhead.
“It’s a great time to have a race,” event co-founder Dane Crowley said.
Crowley said the Crazy Lazy is the first mountain running event coming out of the winter season. He said it’s become fairly popular over the last eight years, drawing an average of 150 racers each event. He said they filled up this year’s registration in under two weeks.
“It’s a really strong following. People really like the atmosphere. It’s just a fun time to be up the mountain,” Crowley said.
Crowley said that he helped found the Crazy Lazy with his fellow mountain runners John Clark and Karen Looney to add to the Valley’s physically and socially active community.
“We get a lot of positive feedback from it. People are happy with the way it’s run,” Crowley said.
After the event, participants venture to Arkose Brewery for food and drinks.
