PALMER — The 2024 Mat-Su Ski for Women event is set for Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Government Peak Recreation Area.

The Mat-Su Ski Club hosts this annual gathering to blend Nordic skiing with costume party. It’s designed to be a fun and inclusive atmosphere where all genders, ages, and ski skill levels are welcome. Participants are invited to let their “creativity shine” as they come up with their costumes.

According to the event page, registration for the event opens at 12:00 p.m., and the 4K ski tour starts at 1:00 p.m. A community potluck at the Government Peak Chalet follows immediately afterwards, offering a warm and welcoming refuge for participants.

Registration for the 2024 Mat-Su Ski for Women event is a suggested donation of $20 per participant.

Attendees are encouraged to bring potluck items, and the Mat-Su Ski Club issued the following list of suggested food contribution items based on the first letter of their last names:

A – F crockpot meal or soup

G – L salads

M – R desserts

S – Z appetizers/drinks
