According to Alaska State Troopers (AST), Dustin P. Lakey of Sutton was northbound on Glenn Highway when his 2008 Ford Ranger pickup collided with a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by 45-year old Gene Boyda of Anchorage. Troopers reported the vehicles collided in the center on the highway around 6:25 p.m.
Lakey, who police say was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reportedly attempted CPR on Lakey. Boyda was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
