The number of positive cases for coronavirus in Alaska has reached a dozen.
Alaska Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anne Zink announced three new cases in Fairbanks and another in Ketchikan during a press conference Thursday in Anchorage.
Zink said the two new positive tests in Fairbanks are not travel related. These are the first positive cases for coronavirus in Alaska that are not travel related. Zink said state officials are still investigating the details of the Ketchikan case. All 12 are outpatients.
“Everyone is doing well from a medical standpoint,” Zink said. “All have been asked to self isolate. None of them should be traveling in the community.”
Zink said state officials have been in contact with all 12 patients.
