WASILLA — A 61-year-old Wasilla man was jailed Tuesday on allegations he was growing marijuana.
According to a press release from Alaska State Troopers, Wayne D. Jones, 61, was home when troopers served their warrant to search for the grow. He was “found to be responsible for the grow operation,” the report says.
Troopers say they found 39 live plants and “related marijuana growing equipment,” as well as three guns.
Jones was arrested for drug misconduct and also for weapons misconduct. It is against the law to have guns near a marijuana grow.
Jones was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $5,000 bail. Jail records Thursday afternoon showed he was still incarcerated.
