4th Reich among us

To the editor:

To those who like to study history, as I do, you might look up “A Law for the Removal of the Distress of People and Reich,” passed by The Reichstag on March 23, 1933.

Also known as the Enabling Act, it gave Hitler the power to make laws without the assent of The Reichstag (Congress).

If you also read our recent Patriot Act, you will find items like “presidential decree” and other powers very similar to the Enabling Act of 1933.

The Nuremberg Act of 1935 is also of interest.

The 4th Reich is alive and well.
