5 score multiple wins at Colony Tri

PALMER — The Valley’s three prep swimming and diving squads opened the season Aug. 20 with the Colony Tri at Palmer Pool.

Five different swimmers earned a pair of wins during the event that included Palmer, Wasilla and host Colony. On the boys’ side, Wasilla’s Koya Barette finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke and 50 freestyle. Palmer’s Nick Geffken was first in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Colony’s Jake Simmons was won in the 500 freestyle and 200 individual medley.

On the girls’ side, Colony’s Sarah Crosley was first in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle. Camille Dayton was first in the 100 butterfly and the 200 IM.
