PALMER — No More Mat-Su is hosting the 6th Annual Rock the Resilience event at the Glenn Massay Theater Tuesday, April 9.
The upcoming community gathering is designed to further the local organization's mission to end domestic and sexual violence.
The theme for this year's event is "Love Like That” and features art, education, games, resources, conversation, and food.
The event will have two sessions: an afternoon gathering from 2 to 4 p.m. that centers around interactive art and issues of consent, and an evening gathering from 6 to 9 p.m. focusing on performing arts and local stories.
An exhibit with locally made artwork related to this year's theme will be on display during both gatherings for public viewing.
The annual Rock the Resilience event is a grassroots collaboration between various nonprofits, businesses, schools and other groups across the community.
According to the event page, this year's event was arranged through collaboration with Journey at the Mat-Su College and a network of over ten local nonprofits and businesses.
No More Mat-Su is a local chapter of the international nonprofit organization, “No More,” a campaign aiming to end domestic violence and sexual assault. No More youth and adult volunteers work together to raise awareness and promote lasting change in their respective communities.
