8 MEA candidates vie for 3 board seats

MAT-SU — Eight people have applied to fill three open at-large seats to serve four-year terms on the Board of Directors for Matanuska Electric Association. Results will be announced at MEA’s annual meeting April 28 at Raven Hall on the Alaska State Fairgrounds. Candidates are:

Kevin Buckland; Peter Burchell; Ron Johnson; Catharine “Kit” Jones; Janet Kincaid; Glenda Ledford; K. Wayne Price; and Bryan Scoresby.

Candidates have until Friday to withdraw. Candidate information will be available on the MEA website March 16.

All MEA members will be mailed election materials in early April, including candidate biographies and bylaw change proposals. Members can vote by paper ballot or online.
