• Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association will sponsor a “Moment of Remembrance” at the Veterans Wall of Honor at 9:11 a.m., Sunday. The first-time event includes a “Roll Call of Honor,” at which time all of the names of fallen soldiers from Alaska or stationed in Alaska will be read.
• 49th State Street Rodders’ Freedom Flag Run leaves from the Old Carrs parking lot in Palmer at 10 a.m., Sunday. Drivers will regroup at the Park-N-Ride lot across from Sears in Wasilla before the caravan leaves for North Star Speedway. Drivers will be supplied with American flags and dash plaques while supplies last. The event includes a car show, motorcycle show and barbecue at the speedway. • Palmer Elks Lodge, off Bogard Road at Barry’s Resort Drive, from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday. The Elks will conduct a ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the tragedy in or around the World Trade Center or the Pentagon 10 years ago.
• Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center, 1001 S. Mack Drive, Wasilla, at 3 p.m., Sunday will have a free, public memorial ceremony that includes dessert, musical performances, a flag ceremony by the Colony High School JROTC and a speech by Brig. • Matanuska Valley Sportsmen “9/11 Tribute Shoot” is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. There will be shooting demonstrations with opportunities for public participation, an old-fashioned turkey shoot, door prizes, hot dogs and more. • A Battlefield Cross memorial honoring Ronald J. Hemenway will be dedicated at Wasilla High School at 3 p.m., Sunday. Hemenway graduated from Wasilla High in 1982 and died while serving at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. His parents, Robert and Shirley Hemenway, will attend the dedication.
