Maude Musgrove celebrated her 100th birthday Tuesday at the Palmer Pioneers' Home. Musgrove moved to Alaska to join her son and daughter-in-law, John and Virginia Musgrove, at their residence in the Butte in 1983. Born in Circleville, Kansas, in 1904, Musgrove moved with her husband Clarence to Patterson, Calif., and worked as a cook in an elementary school in Freemont, Calif. Musgrove celebrated the day with family and friends at the home, and got an added surprise when Tim West, a member of the Pioneer Home staff, jumped out of a cardboard cake to present her with a rose.
