Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’
By Jeremiah Bartz Frontiersman.com A football coach using a hockey reference as the centerpiece for his keynote address may
He was a friend to all
He’d pick you up should you fall
Always a smile on his face
Could make a heart race
A friend, a lover, a brother
Taught people to love one another
He didn’t wear a red cape every day
But he saved people in the simple ways
A high five ready to go
Never not a hug and a “Hello”
He never asked for anything
I’m sure he knew we appreciated everything
He had a laugh that lifted hearts
Taking someone broken and fixing their parts
An unforgettable life and soul
Without him, we won’t be whole
He’s left a handprint on us all
He’ll forever live in friends and old school halls
A hero ‘til the very end
Giving his last to be the very best friend
A miracle to all since life began
Always he’ll be a modern day Superman
