The third annual Family Fun Run/Walk took place at Sherrod Elementary Sept. 13 with families from both schools and members of this wonderful community.
As teachers, parents, grandparents, community leaders, toddlers, strollers, canes and lightning-fast kids made their way around the playground trail they got credit for laps. Complete three laps and get a free meal! Fitness-focused door prizes were given away, music played and we all had a great time.
There were close to 500 people who participated and enjoyed a great fall evening with their families and friends.
Special Thanks tO Marilyn Frantzich for her organizing efforts, VanderWeele Farms for the fresh veggies (especially carrots with tops), Subway of Palmer, Colony High School for the awesome sound system and Swanson/Sherrod staff who volunteered to help.
As administrators, we recognize with grateful hearts the fabulous and giving community in which we are privileged to work. Fitness is more fun with friends! Thank you.
