A request for the citizens

I ask for fellow citizens to join me in advising our congressional delegation on matters critical to upholding their oaths of office/ US Pledges of Allegiance---and supporting The Rule of Law towards that end. In these tumultuous times, extra effort is required to withstand manipulation of power that supports rule by fiat (authoritarian command) instead of rule by deliberative representation of American citizens ---applying historically-proven tenets of justice administration.

We respectfully petition you to use congressional prerogatives to collect the opinions---if not the cumulative will- — of all Alaskans on issues and legislation before Congress. Rep. Young used to issue and collect questionnaires from his constituents on issues before Congress and other matters of concern. We vehemently object to the interpretation of US Government form that legitimizes just your opinion (colored by your prejudices) ruling how you vote and wield your power. That’s what the aristocrats and kings of old did.

We respectfully petition you to support the Rule of Law; Due Process; reliance on review of direct evidence (including sworn testimony) ---not mere allegations; and disciplined verification of facts before citizens are punished. This is applicable to, for example, congressional hearings, impeachment proceedings, and airing of citizen sworn testimony on fraudulent conduct of elections. We are appalled by reports of citizens punished by being put on no-fly lists and being fired from their jobs---without due process to confirm criminal abuse of the First Amendment.

We respectfully petition you to pay attention to President Biden’s call for national unity in his inaugural address, and his listing of “anger, resentment, hatred, extremism, violence, & lawlessness” as enemies of that effort. The historically utilized definition of impeachment has been accomplished. Donald J Trump is no longer in office---removed through the election process. Now he is an ordinary citizen---who requires a grand jury indictment to be tried for any alleged crime (including Pelosi’s allegation of accessory to murder). To carry the impeachment process beyond its purpose is anger-resentment-hatred personified. Consequently, we plead with you to insist on congressional respect for judicial due process under the Constitution’s fifth and sixth amendments.

We respectfully petition you to censure name-calling, slander and unsubstantiated allegations from fellow congressman---egged on by prejudicial media attention. Such incivility must hamper congressional work, and we recommend modification of House and Senate rules to empower ethics committees to curb it.

We remind you that the Power and Will of the People is paramount. Indeed, it’s the genesis of all power wielded by government. Respectful treatment of all citizens is government’s only protection against its own suicide---regardless of plausible but unsubstantiated allegations of sedition or insurrection. American citizens have the inalienable right to hold state and national governments accountable for perverted use of power. Ignore that right at your peril.
