A Wasilla man is dead after a high speed chase and a motorcycle accident in Wasilla Aug. 28.
Wasilla Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle near the intersection of East Bogard Road and North Peck Street for speeding, failing to stop for a stop light, failing to signal, and driving off the roadway while navigating a right turn, department officials wrote in an online update.
The motorcyclist, later identified as David Nagl, 36 of Wasilla immediately fled north on Bogard toward the roundabout, failing to stop for the police. Nagl turned west on Seldon Road, and continued eluding until he and the motorcycle impacted a moose at a speed estimated to be in excess of 100 mph near the intersection of North Jasper Drive. Nagl was pronounced deceased at the scene.
