To the editor:
I have a few words to say about the city of Palmer Spring Cleanup on Saturday.
I went down to the pavilion to get a few bags and felt like I was being interrogated by the garbage bag police. When I asked for some bags, a woman honestly asked me this question, “What for?” “Where?”
My family and I have picked up trash for the last two decades, but after today, we’re done. As far as I know, these bags are donated by BP, and not coming out of city of Palmers pockets. We residents of the city do the work picking up the trash.
Also, I adopted a fire hydrant in front of my house years ago and try to keep it clear of snow with no help from the city. Instead I get a nice sized snowberm pushed in front of it from the city grader, not to mention they tore up my old wooden garbage container when they finally did decide to come and clear the mountain of snow away.
We tried to help the city out by doing our part but it goes unappreciated.
