KNIK RIVER — An air ambulance flew an injured man to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center after an off-road crash Saturday in the Knik River Public Use Area.
According to an Alaska State Troopers press statement, Cody Eicher, an airman stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, was thrown from a Yamaha dirt bike just before 10 a.m., June 2 in the popular recreation destination.
He was unconscious when troopers arrived.
“Medics responded to the scene via helicopter and transported Eicher to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” according to the press statement.
Troopers say they believe alcohol played a role in the crash and are investigating. Charges had not been filed as of Monday, according to court records.
