Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute has added Moyukh Ghosh, MD, to their team of cardiologists. Ghosh is a general cardiologist who enjoys being able to treat a diverse array of cardiac conditions. AHVI looks forward to Ghosh’s contributions
to their practice through his upcoming work with diagnostic imaging—an area of particular interest to the doctor.
Ghosh graduated cum laude from Williams College 2011, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Chemistry. He continued his education at University of Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, earning his Doctorate in Medicine in 2015. Ghosh completed his residency in Internal Medicine at San Francisco’s Kaiser Permanente Medical Center (Kaiser Permanente) in 2018 and stayed with the Kaiser Permanente to commence his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease. Ghosh’s experience with Kaiser Permanente came after an earlier encounter, when Ghosh shadowed a cardiologist as an undergraduate during his winter break. The experience was so impactful, it went on to shape his later career choices.
Ghosh’s academic and early career is notably decorated with awards of merit and excellence. He earned a spot on the Dean’s List four times during his undergraduate degree, earned the Dean’s Letter of commendation twice during his time in medical school and earned the Residency Award for Excellence in Cardiology during his time at Kaiser Permanente. In addition to his numerous appearances as a presenter, Ghosh’s research into the relationship between cannabis use and cardiovascular disease was published in Current Atherosclerosis Reports.
As a new arrival to Alaska, Ghosh enjoys spending his free time going for hikes with his miniature pincher Pilon, skiing and cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Golden State Warriors and Green Bay Packers. Ghosh noted that one of the driving factors influencing his decision to join the AHVI team was the positive impression he received from the care providers he met during the interview process. Each spoke to their satisfaction with their work-life balance, their love of Anchorage and how they enjoyed their clinical experiences.
