The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (AMHTA) awarded $4,670,694 in grants to beneficiary-serving organizations in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026.
According to a press release from the AMHTA, these grants to partners are a part of the Trust’s $25+ million annual grant program supporting Alaskan organizations that serve and support Trust beneficiaries including nonprofits, service providers, Tribal entities, and state and local government agencies.
“Trust grants awarded in the last fiscal quarter will help expand access to behavioral health and prevention services for Trust beneficiaries, support beneficiary housing, strengthen opportunities for community engagement and more,” said Mary Wilson MD, CEO of the Trust. “From Kotzebue to Ketchikan, Trust grant funds are helping our beneficiary serving partners in communities across Alaska improve the lives of Trust beneficiaries.”
Several grants have been awarded to local non-profits here in the Mat-Su Borough, including
-Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services (AARS), which was awarded $750,000 for their expansion project.
-Battle Dawgs, located in Willow, was awarded $50, 000 for their Operation Arctic Renewal: Outdoor-Based Suicide Prevention for Veterans
-Mat-Su Health Foundation received $38,003 for a Crisis Now Implementation Coordinator for Mat-Su
-Mat-Su Health Services, Inc. was awarded $50,000 for the Mental health Trust Dental Grant
Many of the projects funded by the Trust also receive funding from the philanthropic community, private donations, earned revenue, and other community support. The total value of the projects funded by the Trust this quarter is an estimated $13.2 million.
Trust grants are awarded for capacity building, direct service, outreach, planning, capital, and workforce initiatives to organizations that serve Trust beneficiaries.
