Alaska PFD for 2019 is $1,606

Gov. Mike Dunleavy on Friday announced the Permanent Fund Dividend for approximately 631,000 qualified Alaskans will be $1,606 this year.

The amount, roughly the same as last year’s, comes at the end of a heated political process that saw multiple special sessions of the legislature as Dunleavy sought to keep his campaign promise of at least a $3,000 dividend even as he was making drastic cuts to state government services.

Dunleavy, however, has not given up on the PFD and hopes a possible third special session could result in another payout of a similar amount down the road.

Alaska residents who filed online and chose direct deposit will see their PFD deposited on or shortly after Oct. 3, the state said. Those with paper applications or who chose checks will receive their PFDs starting Oct. 24.
