WASILLA— The Alaska Raceway Park is currently entered in the 2022 NASCAR Advance My Track Challenge for the chance to win the $50,000 grand prize.
“We’re just trying to get the word out there so people know they need to go and vote,” Alaska Raceway Park owner Michelle Lackey Maynor
Alaska Raceway Park placed third among the highest-rated race tracks across the country during the 2021 challenge.
Lackey Maynor said they’re seeking the public’s help to help them win this year. She said they’re currently placed in the top six bracket, and they’re feeling confident that they can stand out among the rest of the competition. She said they plan to utilize the winnings to improve the track in various ways over the years.
“It’s pretty impressive for us just to be placed in the top six to begin with because there’s so many tracks that have a much wider base than we do, but we’ve got some really dedicated racers and fans that have helped us get to this point,” Lackey Maynor said.
Those interested in supporting Alaska Raceway Park can vote online this week.
