BUTTE —Alaska Raceway Park is preparing for a big weekend of action at the Butte-area drag strip.
Saturday, the raceway park is hosting its seventh annual Thunder Valley Drags from 4 to 8 p.m. Local classic and alternative back VooDoo will perform. Cash prizes will be offered in tattoo and pinup contests, and 1974 or older cards can make flagged passes down the track. Trophies will be awarded for Best Ford, Mopar, GM, Stock, Mod Stock, Rat Rod, and Best in Show.
Free camping is available on the spectator parking side.
To celebrate Father’s Day Sunday, Alaska Raceway Park will host Top Eliminator, Pro-Nostalgia, and Points races. Spectator gate opens at 10 a.m. and racing starts at 11. The High Octane Lounge and Green Light Grill will be serving beverages and food. Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, $10 for children 11-15, and children 10 and younger are admitted free.
