PALMER — The Alaska State Fair recently announced the upcoming arrival of a new roller coaster for the public’s enjoyment this season.
“We’re always looking to expand and improve the Fair experience for our fairgoers, and are pleased to have the Aftershock join the carnival as another ride the entire family can enjoy,” ASF general manager Jerome Hertel stated in a recent press release.
The 1,181-foot “Aftershock” roller coaster will be featured exclusively at the Fairgrounds through Golden Wheel Amusements.
The Aftershock was engineered and manufactured by Interpark of Modena, Italy, according to the press release.
The gravitational-style coaster stands 40 feet tall with six cars on three trains.
The average ride time comes in around 1 minute, 20 seconds, featuring 1,181 feet of twists and turns, drops of 25 feet, and a top speed of 35 miles per hour.
The Aftershock will be the largest roller coaster in Alaska, according to the press release.
Thrill seeking fairgoers at the 2021 season can be among the first in Alaska to experience the Aftershock. The ride costs $12 and the price is not included in any carnival promotions.
Ride tickets can be purchased at goldenwheelamusements.com.
