WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers say a man charged with robbery was violating the conditions of his release when he ran from them on the Parks Highway.
According to a trooper press statement, officers tried to pull over a 1985 Chevy Camaro on the Parks Highway near Pittman Road just before 7:30 p.m., Jan. 7.
The driver didn’t stop and troopers allege his driving became reckless. Eventually, troopers put out a spike strip to deflate the Camaro’s tires.
“The driver, Philip E. Moore, 26, of Big Lake, attempted escape on foot and was caught at a family residence in the area,” according to the press release.
Moore was arrested for eluding arrest, assault and violating the conditions of his release.
Moore was one of two people charged in a robbery just after Thanksgiving in which troopers allege he pretended to be stuck in a ditch and used a gun to rob a woman who stopped to help.
Troopers also charged Susan Ace, 46, of Big Lake, saying she knew the victim in that case and helped to set up the robbery.
