To the editor:

I’m writing to encourage Valley voters to participate in the borough election on Oct. 1, and to voice my support for David Cheezem, candidate for Mat-Su Borough School Board Seat G.

David is an experienced school board member, having been appointed to fill a seat on the board last year. During this past year, he has demonstrated that he is a dedicated, creative and respectful board member. He studies to develop a deep understanding of issues, considers all sides and works to build consensus. He cares deeply about meaningful education in the Valley.

I have heard him described as a problem-solver, a bridge-builder and a visionary. Often it’s the loudest voices that prevail. In this case, consider a quiet, thoughtful voice that can connect people to each other and connect our students to the future.
