Wasilla High School junior Alyssa Hutchins has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student-Athlete of the Week.
A guard on the girls’ basketball team, Hutchins was named MVP of last week’s Doc Larson’s Roundball Classic, leading the Warriors to a perfect 3-0 tournament record (4-0 overall).
She scored 19 points during a lopsided tourney-opening win over Chugiak and was consistently one of the top outside shooters in the tournament.
