AMANDA PAULINE LaSHURE

Wasilla resident Amanda Pauline LaShure, 11, died at Providence Alaska Medical Center May 29, 2004.

A memorial service was held June 5 at 3 p.m. at Sunny Knik Chapel, Mile 14 Knik Road in Wasilla. Pastor Duane Guisinger officiated. Burial will be at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery.

Amanda was born Sept. 16, 1992, in Soldotna.

She was a 5th-grade student at Goose Bay Elementary School in Wasilla.

Amanda had lived in Kenai and Kodiak before moving to Wasilla in 1996. She was a Christian and had attended Point MacKenzie Vacation Bible School. She won an award in a talent show for air-brush art in 2002.

Amanda's interests included playing the flute, playing basketball, dancing, Girl Scouts, walking, swimming, writing, bike riding, camping, enjoying life and having a lot of fun.

Her family wrote, "Amanda was a beautiful child. She was full of love. She was not shy and would wave, talk and help anyone. She always kept us laughing and was very silly. She had a great imagination. She always kept herself and others occupied and out of trouble. She loved her brothers and sister. We will all miss her. She added a lot of sunshine to many people's lives."

Amanda is survived by her mother, Reina A. Matson; father, John P. LaShure; sister, Patrina A. LaShure; brothers, Paul A. LaShure, Aaron P. Matson-LaShure and Kyle N. Matson-LaShure; grandparents, Daniel and Ellen Valley; extended family and friends Tim Matson, Jerry Valley, Daniel W. Valley, Patty Valley, Carol Valley, Howard Valley, Ginger Wentland, Alan Branson, Audrey Mangum, Wanda Craig, David West, Kerri Belivou, Mr. Alexander, Nurse Tanya and all of the faculty and pupils at Goose Bay Elementary.

Memorial donations may be made in Amanda's name to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
