PALMER -- For more than 40 years, Spider John Koerner has played with and influenced the likes of John Lennon, Jim Morrison and Bob Dylan. Tonight Koerner's never-ending road trip swings into Vagabond Blues in Palmer, at 7:30 p.m.
With a repertoire that includes American folk, country and blues, Koerner's music ranges across the wide landscape of American music.
As a young man, Koerner formed a duo in Minneapolis with Bob Dylan, before Dylan moved to New York City. Later in his career, Koerner recorded with the legendary folk artist, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, and also with Utah Phillips.
In his later years, Koerner has been a frequent guest on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion, most recently appearing on the Feb. 1, 2003, Joke Show Special, performing with a Minneapolis friend as "Outdoor John and the Sears Catalog." He has also played on National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" and "Weekend Edition."
Tickets to Friday's show are still available at Vagabond Blues in Palmer. Admission is $15.
