Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

resident Amyee Lynn Skarda-Bell, 26, died Jan. 26, 2006, from injuries in a motor-vehicle accident near Mile 49 Parks Hwy.
A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, at Valley Funeral Home, 2020 N. Hemmer Road, Palmer. Flowers will be welcome.
Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery.
Mrs. Skarda-Bell was born Sept. 19, 1979, in Petersburg, Va.
She graduated from Chugiak High School and received an associate's degree from University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Mrs. Skarda-Bell came to Alaska in 1983, and resided in Palmer, Chugiak, Eagle River and Willow.
She was employed by Redi Care in Wasilla.
Her loved ones wrote, “Amyee was baptized at 13 and was very spiritual. She enjoyed hiking, camping, snowboarding, painting, learning to play guitar and brightening everyone's day.
“Her husband wrote, ‘Amyee is my best friend, my soul mate and my inspiration to be a better person. I have never admired anyone more, and like everyone else who knew her, I long to be more like her. Amyee had the biggest, purest heart I've ever known, and she made this world a better, brighter place for everyone. Your forever loving husband, Jordon.'”
Mrs. Skarda-Bell's survivors are her husband, Jordon Lewis Bell of Willow; father, Joseph C. Skarda of Palmer; mother, Patricia A. Skarda of Wasilla; brother, Joseph S. Skarda of Palmer; mother-in-law, Joan Bell-Bibber of Kotzebue and father-in-law, Andrew Bibber of Kotzebue.
