Anchorage athletes win state triathlon

KNIK — A pair of Anchorage athletes earned titles at the Alaska State Triathlon Championships in Knik on Sunday.

Jason Lamoreax needed just more than two hours to win the event, which included a 40-kilomoter bike ride, 10K run and 1,500-meter swim in Knik Lake. Lamoreaux finished in 2 hours and 7 minutes, about three minutes faster than runner-up Fred West.

Third-place Luke Kiskaddon and fourth-place Michael Wheatall also cracked the 2:14 mark.

Amber Stull finished fifth overall and won the women’s class with a time of 2:14. Stull finished with a six-minute lead on second-place Larrell Lockard.
