An Anchorage man has been reported missing in the Mat-Su Borough when he did not return from a fishing trip in Valdez on September 8.
Alaska State Troopers report that at approximately 7:20 p.m. Carl DeGross was reported missing in the Glennallen area. DeGross, 33, was last seen leaving HUB of Alaska, at the intersection of Glenn Highway and the Richardson Highway on September 7 at 11:00 p.m., and traveling toward Palmer.
“We have family and co-workers looking for him. We just don’t know what happened after he left the HUB,” says DeGross’s sister, Gwen. “We don’t know if he got in an accident or his phone died and something happened. It’s just not like him to not check in.”
DeGross is described as 5'7" adult male, approximately 210 pounds with a ‘stout’ build. He has green-blue eyes and short blond hair. He was driving a Maroon Dodge Ram with Alaska plates.
“He’s got a fiancé and two children at home waiting for his safe return,” said Gwen.
A sighting was posted in an earlier post in Palmer, but those claims have not been substantiated at this time.
“He may have gone to Kenai Lake or Big Lake for some unknown reason. At this point, we suspect he may be somewhere between Eureka and Palmer. Please keep an eye out for him and/ or his vehicle.”
