Anchorage woman found dead after ATV rollover in Friday Creek

PALMER — An all-terrain vehicle accident led to the death of an Anchorage woman outside of Palmer Sunday evening.

Ai Lor, 39, was found dead, according to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch report posted Sunday night.

According to the dispatch, troopers were notified that a side-by-side ATV had rolled over into Friday Creek, 10 miles up Knik River from the Old Glenn Highway outside of Palmer. Two individuals, Lor and an 8-year-old child, were reported to be in the water. Alaska Wildlife Troopers from the Palmer and Mat-Su West units responded via riverboat. The Helo 4 helicopter was also launched to assist.

The child was rescued from the overturned ATV. Lor’s body was located about 150 yards down river from where the ATV initially went into Friday Creek. The original report came in at 5:11 p.m., Sunday, according to the release, and Lor’s body was found at about 5:57 p.m.

Next of kin were on scene.
