Anderson: Two months of quiet will break this week

WASILLA - Mat-Su Borough Mayor Tim Anderson left his post as executive director of the Wasilla Senior Center in December, and apparently no one is willing to say why - at least not yet.

Elmer Feltz, chairman of the Senior Center board, said its attorneys advised board members and center employees not to comment.

In the last two months, the only concrete source indicating that the split between Anderson and the senior center may have not been an amicable one was a Dec. 8 letter to local businesses from Ruby Church, Wasilla Senior Center, marking Anderson's departure.

"We at Wasilla Area Seniors Inc. would like to inform all of our business associates that Tim and Mary Anderson are no longer associated with us," the letter stated.

Anderson himself said he and the senior center are preparing an explanation for the public.

"We parted ways amicably, and the statement will be out next week," Anderson said Friday.

The statement will be available next Thursday or Friday, he said.
