Long time Wasilla resident Anita Joy Cork, age 88, went to be with her Lord Jesus, peacefully in her sleep on December 5, 2022.

A service will be held at Northgate Church, 2991 N Tait Drive, Wasilla at 6pm, Saturday Dec. 10th.

Anita was born June 9, 1934 in Dayton, Washington to Emory and Edna Moore. She graduated high school in Monument, Oregon.

Anita married Roy ‘Barney’ Cork, February 13, 1952. They moved to Prineville, Oregon and raised their family: Dennis (Janae) Cork of Soldotna, Alaska, Dan (Lori) Cork of Palmer, Alaska, and Arleta (Monty) Klaus of Star, Idaho. Anita loved her 8 grandchildren: Chris (Amanda) Cork, Tim Cork, Jeremy (Aubrey) Cork, Danielle ( Rob) Ray, Holly (Tim) Pollard, Heidi (Alan) Nelson, Kelli (Lance) Simonds and Brian (Mardelle) Klaus.

Barney and Anita moved to Alaska in February, 1976.

Anita worked in retail and was the original owner of Arctic Rose Bridal Shop in Wasilla. She and Barney enjoyed Halibut fishing in Homer, Alaska, taking many friends and family to their favorite fishing hole. Anita finally caught her 100# plus Halibut in 2001.

Anita enjoyed hunting, painting and their many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After turning 80, Anita wrote and published 2 books and was working on a third at the time of her passing. Her greatest passion was for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she was a true prayer warrior.

Anita is survived by her sister Jacquie Geer, numerous Nephews and Nieces, her children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Granddaughter.
