WASILLA — The annual Recycle Revival music festival is set for July 30 from 2 to 11 p.m. at the Skeetawk Ski Resort.
This is Valley Community for Recycling Solutions’ largest fundraising event of the year.
This year’s event features four local bands, dancing, beer garden, food vendors, a silent auction, and a natural backdrop within the Hatcher Pass area.
This “zero waste” event is sponsored by Subaru along with several local businesses. According to VCRS Director Tam Boeve, this will be the first time they’ve held the festival at Skeetawk.
“This is an opportunity for us to raise some money and enjoy being together and get the word out on keeping materials out of the landfill,” Boeve said. “This is a fun event. This is a feel-good get-together with people who share our vision of recycling.”
This annual tradition was started by the late Molly Boyer. Boeve said they’re honored to keep Boyer’s vision going year after year.
“I think this is good. It’s a celebration of what was important to Molly,” Boeve said.
Admission for Recycle Revival is $20. For more information, visit valleyrecyclingak.org/recycle-revival.
