ANCHORAGE – Last week, the Anchorage Police Department celebrated the graduation of 30 recruits from the police Academy.

These new officers include five females, one 2nd generation officer (father) and one 3rd generation officer (grandfather and father). This graduating class brings the total number of sworn officers to 429. They are the largest academy to graduate since the 1970’s.

“APD is the strongest it’s ever been with the addition of these 30 new officers,” said Chief Justin Doll. “I want to thank the Mayor and the Assembly for supporting these staffing increase efforts.”
