Alaskans for Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge is truly saddened by the news of Russell K. Butts’ passing. He was one of our earliest community supporters, lending a hand at cleanups, sharing his considerable on-the-ground knowledge about the refuge at our board and annual meetings and always being an advocate for care and preservation of the habitat.
It is hard to imagine any day without Russell being somewhere out on the refuge he so loved. Our deepest sympathy for his family’s loss.
