Appreciates efforts

To the editor:

My daughter is a home school student at Mat-Su Central School. She is a senior this year and is qualified to take classes at Mat-Su College as a Mat-Su Borough School District student.

There was a glitch in the registration process and I called on several people to help fix the problem. Some folks were extremely responsive and I would like to publically thank them for their time and effort. Those who were not helpful and nonresponsive will not be mentioned as I recognize people for excellence.

From the Mat-Su Borough School District, I wish to thank Mat-Su Central principal John Brown and director of instruction Mike Vrvilo; and Rep. Shelley Hughes, Rep. Bill Stoltze and their staff members Karen Sawyer, Darrell Breese and Ryan McKee. An extra special thanks to Dianne Milke, executive assistant to Pat Gamble, the president of the university; school board president Mike Dunleavy; and school board member Lynn Gattis. These groups of public employees and policy makers have done their jobs with excellence.

These are the folks who took a minor glitch in the registration process that would have prevented my daughter from attending college as a MSBSD student and made it possible for her to enroll in college now. These people fixed the glitch. This is the type of public service I value and appreciate.
