WASILLA — The Alaska State Archery Association, alongside Screaming Eagle Archery, is hosting the annual Spring Bear Championship Saturday and Sunday at the Grouse Ridge Shotgun Shooting Club outside of Wasilla.
About 150 people are expected to participate in the event, which starts at 9 a.m. each day. The general public is welcome to attend. Those in the competition events must be ASAA members.
Non-members interested in participating can for a $40 fee. That fee includes both days. The event includes the chance to shoot at 35 three-dimensional targets each day. Participants will have two arrows per target.
Organizers say participant age range has gone from as young as 6 years old to as old as 85.
