WASILLA — An all-new fused glass art store is opening in Wasilla. Artfully Detailed is hosting a grand opening ceremony Saturday, Nov. 23 from 12 to 5 p.m. The owner, Lisa Marcinek, is ready to foster art and creativity in her community.
“It also helps people relax, remember that there’s more to life than just working,” Marcinek said.
There will be snacks during this meet and greet style event. Marcinek said that with the closure of Half Moon Creek this year, there was need to be filled in the community. She said that someone had to offer fusion glass in the Valley.
“I really didn’t want to see that resource leave our community,” Marcinek said. “I didn’t see anyone picking it up and I really didn’t want to lose the ability to do fused glass in Alaska.”
Marcinek plans to start offering various fused glass classes in December.
“I feel like it’s something most people can do,” Marcinek said.
Artfully Detailed is located at 440 S. Denali Street in Wasilla. For more information, call 907-290-7991 or look them up on Facebook.
