Why is the borough allowing a private company to have a monofill dump in the valley next to existing houses that could possibly contaminate the drinking water? We are talking 10,000 tons a year for 30 years.
The parcel of land is next to Kepler-Bradley Lakes, which is also close to a salmon stream. The Central Monofill operations says that it’s just construction material. I really don’t want asbestos, a known cancer-causing material, to be buried in the ground next to a popular lake and salmon stream.
Palmer has a majority of the farm land in the Valley, does Palmer want to be know as a gravel pit and monofill dump or would they rather be know as the bread basket of Alaska?
Stop bringing trash to the Valley, stop the process of just digging a hole and hoping it doesn’t poison the water next to your favorite fishing hole or neighborhood. This is way closer than Pebble Mine. It’s your backyard.
