WASILLA— The Alaska State Fair is gearing up for another holiday season featuring the Bright Up the Night drive-through light display.

Visitors making their way through the Fairgrounds will be able to see a wide variety of illuminated fixtures and listen to holiday music broadcasted through a special onsite frequency.

According to the Alaska State Fair website, this is the largest drive-through holiday light display in the state. The 2022 exhibit is said to feature over 70 different light displays and over half of the displays will be new.

Bright Up the Night opens Thanksgiving Day and runs through New Year’s Eve. Tickets are currently available.

The exhibit will be open Thursdays through Sundays from November 24 through December 11, and daily from December 15 through December 31. The hours of operation will be 5 to 9 p.m. during both cycles.

The Fair website indicated that a limited number of vehicles will be allowed in each hour. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Fairgrounds.

Those that purchase tickets by November 23 will pay $20 for personal vehicles, $35 for vans or limos, and $70 for buses.

After Nov. 23, the price changes to $25 for personal vehicles, $40 for vans or limos, and $75 for buses.

Visitors can also immerse in even more holiday spirit at the Christmas Factory which is also located within the Fairgrounds. Bright Up the Night ticket holders will receive a 10 percent discount for Christmas Factory admission.

The Christmas Factory runs from Nov. 25 to Dec. 11. It’s an interactive holiday experience that offers numerous immersive points of interest for families taking their children to see Old Saint Nick, Mrs. Claus, and many merry elves who tour guests through Santa’s workshop.
