Just one day after the Alaska State Troopers issued a BOLO for Dustin Peters, AST made an arrest on Saturday in the search for the Wasilla man suspected of a violent felony crime.
The 38-year-old Wasilla man was apprehended Saturday afternoon, thanks to the help of a tip. Troopers previously obtained a felony warrant for his arrest.
“Dustin Peters was located and arrested by AST after a concerned citizen recognized him from the press release and called in his location,” said AST Information Officer Tim DeSpain.
According to the AST dispatch, at approximately 1230 hours, AST received a tip that Peters was at the Holiday Gas Station near Parks and Pittman. Dustin had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
“AST Patrol and Judicial Services units arrived, contacted Dustin at Subway, and placed him under arrest. During the arrest, a stolen firearm and controlled substances were found resulting in new charges,” the dispatch stated.
Peters was then transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded on his warrant, and the new charges of Misconduct Involving Weapons 3rd Degree, Theft 2, and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances 5th Degree, and held without bail.
On Friday, AST has posted a warning along with a request for the public’s assistance in finding Peters, who had last been seen in the Mat-Su Valley on the morning of October 6, 2023, driving a 2019 dark red Ford F150, and was considered armed and dangerous. He had one active felony warrant for his arrest, and is also a suspect in a violent felony crime that recently occurred in Wasilla, though there were no details at that time.
