Wasilla sophomore Dajanae Harris has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student-Athlete of the Week.
Harris, the defending state champion in the 100-meter, earned “Fastest Alaskan” status after winning the Princess Cruises Fastest Alaskan Race during the Big C Relays at The Dome in Anchorage on Saturday.
Harris sprinted 100 meters in 12.97 seconds to win.
“Clearly, she’s the favorite to win the state title for the 100,” Wasilla head coach Gary Howell said. “If she stays healthy, stays focused, people will be hard-pressed to match her.”
Harris also helped the Warriors win the 1,600-meter sprint relay at the Big C.
The Frontiersman congratulates Harris on her success.
